Kaepernick won’t stop kneeling?

The Seattle Seahawks don’t currently have a backup quarterback on their roster. And, given the skill set of their starting quarterback, it’s not that far fetched to think that Colin Kaepernick would be a great backup for them.

Apparently, they think so too as they have scheduled a visit with him. Hooray?

Not so fast. According to Adam Schefter, the Hawks have postponed this scheduled meeting because Kap hasn’t said he’ll stop kneeling during the National Anthem.

“After arranging for Colin Kaepernick to work out for the Seahawks this week, Seattle postponed the trip when the quarterback declined to stop kneeling during the national anthem next season, league sources tell ESPN,” Schefter tweets.

I’m guessing, if this is true, this would be the first case of a team clearly not considering him because of the kneeling. It’s been speculated on quite a bit, but quarterback-needy teams always had some sort of excuse as to why they wouldn’t bring in Kaepernick, even if it was crystal clear that he would be their best option.

I had heard last year that Kaepernick said he’d stop kneeling in order to play with a team, but maybe that’s not true. Can’t wait for the league and the union to react to this if it’s true.
