Kyrie finished for the year

Well, well, well. How things are getting shaken up in the NBA’s Eastern Conference. For years, it’s been the Cleveland Cavaliers and everyone else. Basically, you either have LeBron James or you don’t.

This year? Looking a bit different. The Cavs are the three seed right now and have had their struggles this season. At some point, you’re going to have to give LeBron some help.

One of the teams at the top of the conference is the Boston Celtics. One of the reasons they are at the top is because the Cavaliers handed them Kyrie Irving in the offseason. However, Irving has missed a bunch of time this year as he recovers from a knee injury that started in the 2015 NBA Finals.

He’s crucial to their success as he’s a little stud. But, according to the Celtics official Twitter feed, Irving has taken a turn for the worse and will miss the rest of the season and playoffs.

“#NEBHInjuryReport Kyrie Irving will undergo a procedure this Saturday to remove two screws implanted in his patella from an injury suffered during the 2015 NBA Finals.

He is expected to make a full recovery in 4-5 months,” the Celtics tweets as an entire organization.

This is very, very bad news for the Celtics chances in the playoffs. They went from a potential appearance in the NBA Finals to possibly losing in the first round.

So, the questions become, how good are the Raptors? How good can the Philadelphia 76ers be? When does Joel Embiid come back? Can LeBron carry the Cavaliers yet again?

Whole conference just got a lot more interesting.
