Browns ship Kizer to Packers

The Cleveland Browns are wheeling and dealing. Hell, the entire NFL seems to be wheeling and dealing right now. I can’t remember so many deals in a single offseason before, and we haven’t even hit free agency yet.

The Browns earlier sent a third-round pick to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for Tyrod Taylor (sorry, Tyrod). In theory, that would mean that no other quarterback on the roster was safe, but to be honest, the play of every other quarterback on the roster meant that every other quarterback on the roster wasn’t safe.

The Browns then went ahead and acquired Jarvis Landry from the Miami Dolphins. He was franchised by the Dolphins and there are reports that he could play under the franchise tag with the Browns.

But, the Browns aren’t done. According to Ian Rapoport, the Browns have shipped last year’s second-round pick DeShone Kizer to the Green Bay Packers.

“The #Packers are trading CB Damarious Randall to the #Browns, and Cleveland is sending back QB DeShone Kizer, sources say. Unclear if picks are also involved,” Rapoport tweets.

Damarious Randall has reportedly not picked up his phone since, ignoring any call that comes from a 216 area code.

This couldn’t be better news for Kizer. He was brutal in Cleveland last year on a team that won exactly zero games. Now, he’ll get to study under one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. This means that the team will either move on from Brett Hundley or let him battle Kizer. Hundley looked overmatched as a starter last year and there were probably a few executives in the Packers organization that notices.
