Raiders aren’t keeping Janikowski

It sounds like the Oakland Raiders are giving up on former first-round pick Sebastian Janikowski without really giving him much of a chance.

Drafted in 2000, Janikowski has been with the Raiders ever since. But, it looks like the Raiders have decided to move on in 2018.

“Raiders informed kicker Sebastian Janikowski today that they do not plan to bring him back for the 2018 season, per source. An 18-year run with Raiders comes to an end,” tweets Adam Schefter.

The writing was on the wall with Giorgio Talvecchio under team control next year. Janikowski can still kick, but he’s turning 40 and needs to prove he can stay healthy.

He’ll surely get another shot elsewhere, but it won’t be for a lot of money.
