Kristaps needs a nap

Overall, the New York Knicks have to be happy with their huge center Kristaps Porzingis. He’s extremely talented and is a big reason why they aren’t the usual slop that they’ve been for the last however many years.

But, Porzingis has not shown that he can handle the full load of an 82-game NBA season. So, his quote following his 5-of-19 shooting performance in a loss to the Washington Wizards isn’t exactly encouraging.

Kristaps says he’s exhausted.

“I’m tired, I’m tired, I’m so tired right now,” Porzingis said. “I have one day to rest my legs and get back and play better and have more energy and try to bring the team’s energy up. We’re in a tough stretch. The mental part doesn’t help at all. When it’s mentally tough, you don’t have it in you.”

Head coach Jeff Hornacek said he doesn’t have any plans to sit him right now, but perhaps he should. It’s one thing for a player to feel tired and play tired, it’s quite another for him to come out and say this in such detail. This guy must really feel like toast.
