Phillies making moves

The Philadelphia Phillies are wheeling and dealing. Let’s be honest, they probably need to. They were not a good baseball team last year and probably won’t be this year.

So, general manager Matt Klentak has started making moves. Not sure if this was first or not, but let’s say it was. First, he signed free agent first baseman Carlos Santana, previously with the Cleveland Indians.

“Sources: phillies agree to deal with Carlos Santana,” tweets Jon Heyman.

The deal is reportedly three years, $60 million. That’s a lot per year for a guy who hit .259 with 23 HRs last year. And he’s a first baseman, soooo…is Rhys Hoskins moving to the outfield?

Maybe he’s moving to short stop because the Phillies just traded away their starter. They sent Freddy Galvis to the San Diego Padres for Enyel De Los Santos, a AA pitcher from the Padres system.
