Off the Record (OTR)

Yup, Wentz out for the year

We’ve pretty much known this since last night, but we’ve been waiting for the Philadelphia Eagles to confirm it. Carson Wentz left the team’s win against the Los Angeles Rams after he got injured diving into the end zone.

At first, no one thought much about it because he, you know, stayed in the game for four more plays and threw a touchdown for god’s sake. But, then he left, went to the locker room and it was quickly reported that he wasn’t returning to the game. Erin Andrews said trainers were walking out of the room shaking their heads.

The worst was speculated and the worst was feared. Now, the worst has been realized.

Wentz tore his ACL and is out for the year.

So, maybe in terms of life it isn’t “the worst,” as he’s still alive, will be able to walk again and will be able to play football again. But, in terms of the Eagles season, it’s the worst.

The Eagles just won the NFC East and are in the driver’s seat for a bye in the playoffs and home field advantage throughout the postseason.

But, no one in the 215 is celebrating.
