Red Sox making Bradley available

The Boston Red Sox are looking for some more power in their lineup. I can’t say I blame them.

And in order to add that power, USA Today‘s Bob Nightengale is reporting that the BoSox are willing to make outfielder Jackie Bradley, Jr. available in a trade.

“The Boston #RedSox have let several teams know that CF Jackie Bradley is available in their pursuit of a power bat. #Cubs,” Nightengale tweets.

I’m not sure if adding the #Cubs in there implies that the Chicago Cubs are rumored to be interested in acquiring Bradley, or if he’s just trying to rile up their fan base for his own enjoyment.

The San Francisco Giants are also rumored to be interested in Bradley.

Bradley is a defensive stud who never offered much in the way of offense. Two years ago he hit .267 with 83 RBIs, which is nice, but he fell off last year, batting just .245. If you look at his career numbers, it’s clear he’ll never hit .280 or above unless it’s like a Brady Anderson anomaly year.
