Bridgewater to be activated

Right before last season, Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater suffered a gruesome knee injury in training camp. It was so bad that they lauded the team doctors who initially took care of him for saving his leg.

He’s been rehabbing a long time and it looks like he’s finally ready to play football again. Ian Rapoport says that it looks like he’ll be activated this week.

“With #Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater expected to be activated by Wed., don’t be surprised if he backs up Case Keenum, who earned more starts,” Rapoport tweets.

It’s a great step for Bridgewater, who hasn’t stepped on a football field since Blair Walsh booted the Vikings out of the playoffs in early 2016. It doesn’t sound like he’s going to play right away with Keenum playing well and the Vikings winning football games.

However, if the Vikings start to falter, it probably won’t take long before Bridgewater gets the nod. It will be interesting to see where he is in his football development after coming back from such a terrible injury.
