Jameis to miss first start?

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston has never missed a start in his short NFL career. After being the first-overall pick in 2015, he’s played every single game since.

But, that could be coming to and end. Winston suffered a shoulder injury on his throwing arm last Sunday and he’s still pretty banged up.

According to Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times, Winston didn’t look good in practice on Thursday.

“Bucs’ Jameis Winston didn’t look today like a quarterback expecting to play on Sunday. Could test shoulder more Friday, but seems unlikely,” Auman tweets.

At 2-3, the Bucs are still very much in play to make something happen and get into the post season. That’s not going to happen without Jameis, even if you think he’s not that good. He’s their best shot so it will be wise to be cautious with him.

UPDATE: He’s going to start.
