Watkins frustrated with role

The Los Angeles Rams seem to be a little better than we thought they’d be. Sure, they still looked bad last week in a home loss to the Seattle Seahawks, but I – like many others – thought they would just be dreadful.

One guy who got off to a decent start was the recent addition of wide receiver Sammy Watkins. He had a couple of decent games earlier, but has fallen off the map in the last two games. He expressed his frustration with his lack of involvement in the offense this week.

“As a player, of course you’re going to be frustrated,” Watkins said. “Each week, it could change. They had certain coverage that kind of took me out of the game, and that’s part of the game.”

Watkins had zero catches on four targets last week and just two targets the week before. It sounds like teams could be rolling coverages his way. It also looks like things aren’t going to get any easier moving forward as he draws Patrick Peterson this week against the Arizona Cardinals.

Cooper Kupp is probably the better fantasy option at this point.
