Vikings confirm Cook torn ACL

Well, screw my fantasy team. I was so excited to nab Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook in the fourth round of my 12-team league’s draft. What a steal!

Not anymore. Cook went down in yesterday’s loss to the Detroit Lions with a non-contact injury. Anyone with half of a brain knew immediately that it wasn’t good. The Vikings’ Twitter account just confirmed it.

“Coach Zimmer confirms that Dalvin Cook has a torn ACL,” the Vikings tweeted as an entire organization.

It doesn’t need to be said that his season is over. Latavius Murray said that he feels really good and it looks like he is in position to take over the lion’s share of the carries. Jerick McKinnon will probably get his usual carries as well.

This is a big blow to a team that is yet again ravaged by injuries. Last year their offensive line was absolutely decimated. This year, Teddy Bridgewater still isn’t healthy, Sam Bradford is having knee troubles and now they lose their starting running back.
