Redskins like Doctson

Okay, so the title of this post is something that should be obvious. The Washington Redskins spent their first-round pick in 2016 on TCU wide receiver Josh Doctson. So, they obviously like him, but that fact remains that he needs to stay healthy, which is something he hasn’t been able to do so far in his NFL career.

Right now, he’s behind Terrelle Pryor and Jamison Crowder on the depth chart, but he can still have an impact if he’s out there.

Kirk Cousins recently said that Doctson can “really make a difference” if they can get him going.

Head coach Jay Gruden went a bit further.

“He’s a very natural route runner. Very friendly quarterback target,” Gruden said. “We’ll see how it goes, but I feel very good about where he is mentally and his approach to running routes as a receiver.”

This is positive news for me since I snagged Doctson late in my fantasy draft on Wednesday night (my team is awesome, I can’t wait to tell you all about it). We’ll see what happens, but Doctson should get plenty of opportunities to thrive this year in Washington’s offense.

It all starts at 1pm on Sunday when they host the Philadelphia Eagles.
