Another fantasy nightmare in New England

With the exception of Tom Brady and, in a PPR situation, Julian Edelman, the New England Patriots’ offensive players tend to be a headache fantasy wise. Sure, you can mention Rob Gronkowski who is incredible…until he gets hurt.

And there is no more maddening situation then they’re running back rotation. One of the few guys to count on last year was LeGarrette Blount, who scored 18 touchdowns in 2016. Well, he’s in Philly now with the Eagles.

And it looks like the most likely player to take Blount’s role, according to ESPN’s Mike Reiss, is newcomer Mike Gillislee, formerly of the Buffalo Bills.

That sounds great and all, but it’s still another nightmare fantasy backfield. Remember the Super Bowl that Dion Lewis had? From game to game it could be anyone getting the load.

James White and Rex Burkhead are also in the mix, so if you decide to draft a Pats running back…well, have fun with that.
