Cook could be special?

There wasn’t much about the game of Florida State running back Dalvin Cook that had NFL scouts and teams worried. He was a sure fire first-round pick if not for off-field nonsense that may or may not be a problem at the professional level.

So, it’s not a huge surprise that Cook is already impressing his new Minnesota Vikings teammates and coaches.

Head coach Mike Zimmer – not known for gushing about players – had high praise for him at recent OTAs.

“There was a play yesterday that, Xavier Rhodes is trying to catch him, and he’s hauling now,” said Zimmer. “Now, he’s got some things he’s got to work on, like all young backs, but I’ve been very impressed with him this spring.”

The Vikings added Latavius Murray this offseason, but he’s been absent with an ankle issue. I wouldn’t be absent too long because I’ll bet Cook can come right in and win the job. I like Murray and all, but if Cook is a baller then he won’t see much of the field.
