Cook falling to Day 2?

Florida State running back Dalvin Cook could be the best at his position in the NFL Draft. But, there’s more to it than that. Many folks have concerns over his durability and off-the-field issues.

Will he fall out of the first round?

Some are starting to think so. Draftnik Tony Pauline is now “a believer” that Cook will fall to round two and the second day of the draft. An Oakland Raiders source told him that he thought Cook would be there for them at No. 24 and would get past the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who has been linked heavily to Cook.

But, that was before they traded for Marshawn Lynch. Would they still take Cook in the first round after acquiring Lynch? It’s possible, Lynch certainly isn’t a long-term solution.

NFL.com draft analyst Lance Zierlein said that many teams have moved Cook down their boards due to “concerns surrounding durability and character.”

It all sounds like Cook is headed for a major slide, but that said, it only takes on team to pull the trigger.
