Niners taking Fournette?

In 2006, the New Orleans Saints drafted USC’s Reggie Bush with the second-overall pick in the NFL Draft. Since then, no running back has been taken that high. Off the top of my head, Trent Richardson was No. 3 in 2012 and that is one of the highest since then. Darren McFadden was No. 4 in 2008. Who am I missing?

Anyway, according to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune, the San Francisco 49ers could be looking at LSU’s Leonard Fournette with the second pick.

“Scuttlebutt in league circles Monday night was the 49ers could make LSU’s Leonard Fournette the highest-drafted running back since the Saints selected Reggie Bush No. 2 in 2006,” Biggs writes.

This could be typical pre-draft BS and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was. But, we’ll all find out together.
