Good chance Thornton plays Game 3

The San Jose Sharks are tied in the first round of the NHL Playoffs with the Edmonton Oilers at one game a piece. Game 3 is tonight in San Jose and there is a good chance that they could be getting a familiar face back.

Joe Thornton has been dealing with a lower body injury, but it looks like he could play on Sunday night.

“After yesterday with the day off, wanted something light,” Thornton said. “Just kind of feel a little bit fresher today. Hopefully it responds good and I’ll be able to play tonight.”

He’s still being considered a game-time decision, but my guess is he gives it a go. With all of the years of playoff disappointment in San Jose, they can use all the help they can get (even if he’s kind of the face of those disappointments).
