Texans or bust for Romo
- Updated: March 25, 2017
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is currently stuck in Dallas. He’s not being held captive as far as we know, but his options are currently limited.
But, maybe it’s because he wants them to be. Romo has made a ton of money in the NFL and it would seem that he’s been smart with it. He’s not rushing to play for just anyone so that he can collect a check. According to Jeff Darlington, Romo wants to play for the Texans or call it a career.
“I had some talks about Romo today. Broncos haven’t closed door but not pursuing. I’m told Romo believes it’s Texans or retirement for 2017,” Darlington tweets.
The Broncos would make sense, but the Texans make more. He could stay in Texas and would be joining a team that is truly a quarterback away from competing for a Super Bowl. Even without J.J. Watt, that defense is ferocious. They just didn’t have anyone remotely competent to throw the football last year (and in previous years).
If Romo were to stay healthy for an entire season (granted that’s a huge if), I think they could give the Patriots problems.
We’ll see what happens.
