Will Scherzer be ready for the season?
- Updated: March 13, 2017
Washington Nationals stud right hander Max Scherzer has been dealing with some injury issues. Specifically, he’s got a stress fracture in his right ring finger. This can’t be good.
Every time he throws he could theoretically reset the entire injury. I’m no doctor, but I’d have to think finger injuries really suck for pitchers. But, Scherzer says not to worry, he’s going to be ready for the start of the 2017 season.
“Max Scherzer said he’s going to be ready for the season. “I’m gonna do it.” As for minor league game slated for Friday, he said it’s TBD,” tweets the WaPo’s Jorge Castillo.
Now, it doesn’t say that he’s going to be ready for Opening Day, but he might just mean that he’ll be ready for his turn in the rotation. We’ll see what happens, but the Nationals have to be praying that this injury doesn’t linger and become a problem all season.
