Vince Young coming back?
- Updated: February 16, 2017
Remember Vince Young? In 2006, he was a hot rookie doing some amazing things for the Tennessee Titans. Then, he gradually fell off until he was popping off about a “Dream Team” for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2011.
That really didn’t go well. He threw four touchdowns and nine interceptions for the Eagles in place of an injured Michael Vick, but hasn’t appeared in a regular season game since.
Could he be making a come back?
According to his agent, Leigh Steinberg, he’d certainly like to. Steinberg tweeted that Young still has a “dream of playing more football.”
Dream is probably right. He’s been with the Buffalo Bills, Green Bay Packers and Cleveland Browns for stints over the last few years, but I don’t remember him making it past the preseason. He certainly didn’t play in any real games.
He’s 33-years old and is likely only making a push to return to the NFL because he needs a paycheck. Which is fine, but don’t we also remember him taking out a $300,000 loan to throw himself a birthday party?
The new spring league has shown interest in Young and that might be his only option.
