Eagles expected to shop Kendricks
- Updated: February 10, 2017
This piece of news should come as no surprise to anyone that follows the Philadelphia Eagles. 2012 second-round pick Mychal Kendricks had a promising start to his career and even earned a second contract with the team. But, he fell out of favor big time last year in Jim Schwartz’s 4-3 defense.
He was even playing the final moments of the final preseason game last year! Starters don’t play a down in that game!
So, it should come as no surprise that, due almost $5 million next year, the Eagles are looking to move him, according to Jimmy Kempski…sort of.
“I think they’ll trade Kendricks,” Kempski tweets.
This is not surprising as Kendricks name has been linked to trade rumors before Schwartz even got there. For whatever reason, he’s just fallen out of favor. Whether it’s injuries or whatever, Kendricks hasn’t played much and when he has he hasn’t been productive.
The logical trading partner would be the New England Patriots. Just because they’ll recognize what he does well and get the most out of him. I think he’s best used attacking the quarterback, but the Eagles insist on dropping him into coverage.
