Denver exploring market for Mudiay

The Denver Nuggets are hoping to make a playoff push in the West. To do so, they’ll probably need another high-level, established player to get them over the hump.

In terms of trade chips, the Nuggets do have a 20-year old without much polish. Emmanuel Mudiay is a 6′ 5″, 200 lb. point guard that plays hard every night. He’s not a great shooter, but he’s very young and could fetch something in return.

According to ESPN (who I won’t link to or read because they’ve got all sorts of audio and video that just starts shouting at you as soon as you click on it), the Nuggets are “quietly exploring” potential trades for Mudiay. That’s not to say that they are in a hurry to move the young point guard, but just trying to see what is out there.

If I’m the Philadelphia 76ers, I’m picking up the phone if I see a 303 area code. T.J. McConnell has played well as of late, but he’s a backup point guard in the NBA. Mudiay would give them their young point guard to go with the rest of the young squad. And, Mudiay played for Brett Brown in Australia years ago, so they know each other.

We’ll see if Denver pulls the trigger, but the Sixers do have Jahlil Okafor that I’d be happy to send out to Colorado. I’d be cool with that.
