Lincecum has no plans to retire
- Updated: January 23, 2017
I’m not exactly sure what happened to Tim Lincecum, but whatever did happened fast. At one point, Lincecum was one of the best pitchers in baseball and a two-time Cy Young Award winner.
Now? He’s just terrible.
At 32-years old, Lincecum was putrid for the Anaheim Angels (or whatever they are called these days) last season and is now hitting the free agent market. Not sure what the market will be for a guy that was 2-6 last season with a 9.16 ERA, but I guess he’s going to find out. According to his agent, he’s not retiring.
Lincecum “is throwing and getting ready for the season,” according to agent, Rick Thurman.
I’m sure he’d love to still be considered a starter, but it just doesn’t seem like there is anything left in the tank. I’m not even sure I’d want to fill out the middle of my bullpen with him. We’ll see what happens.
