Connor Cook to start for Oakland
- Updated: January 4, 2017
The NFL playoffs haven’t even started yet and rookie quarterback Connor Cook is already making history for the Oakland Raiders. Jack Del Rio confirmed that Cook will indeed start this weekend when they host the Houston Texans.
Why is that a big deal? Well, it’s the first time in NFL history that a rookie quarterback got his first start in the playoffs. No pressure though.
Obviously, Derek Carr went down with a broken ankle. And then Matt McGloin got in there and got his shoulder all busted up for him. His status wasn’t known, but it is now. Cook is the guy.
This is going to be one hell of a game and it may break ratings records. Brock Osweiler vs. Connor Cook is going to be the game of the century. NFL fans are getting robbed a bit here, but it’s what happens with injuries.
Enjoy the game!
