How good is Khalil Mack?

The Oakland Raiders spent a very high draft pick on Kahlil Mack back in the 2014 NFL Draft. They used the No. 5-overall pick on him to be exactly. I probably could have worded that all into the first sentence, but I chose to drag it out so that you’d have more to read.

Mack has been a monster lately, even if he got off to a bit of a slow start. But, he’s easily been one of the best – if not the – defenders in all of football for the last month or so.

On Sunday in a win over the Carolina Panthers, Mack absolutely crushed it. He had an interception, sack, forced fumble, fumble recovery and touchdown. All. In. One. Game. There’s guys who won’t do that in three seasons. It’s been reported that no NFL player has done that since Charles Woodson in 2009.

Mack was absolutely overwhelming in particular when he picked off Cam Newton at about the five-yard line and walked it in for a touchdown right before halftime.

At this point, it’s pretty clear that Mack has been worth every penny. It’s scary to think that he might get better.
