Stolarz to be first NJ-born NHL goalie
- Updated: November 26, 2016
Philadelphia Flyers fans have been anxious to see their young goalie Anthony Stolarz in a Flyers uniform. They would love to see the 22-year old take over for Michal Neuvirth and become the team’s mainstay goalie by year’s end. Whether that happens, we’ll have to see.
But, what we do know is that Stolarz will make his NHL debut on Sunday against the Calgary Flames. And in doing so, he’s going to make some NHL history.
“Stolarz will make NHL debut vs Calgary on Sun. Mason and Flyer players seem excited for him; 1st NJ born goalie to play in NHL,” tweets Flyers beat writer Tim Panaccio.
How is that even possible? No goalie in the NHL was ever born in New Jersey? That’s crazy.
Flyers fans want this kid to light it up and join the other young stars like Ivan Proverov, Travis Konecny and Shayne Gostisbehere.
