Remember Joba Chamberlain?

I think the last time I wrote about Joba Chamberlain it was back in 2010 and it had to do with him getting sent to the Yankees bullpen or something.

I admit that I had no clue he was still in MLB. Well, technically he’s not now, but he was a day ago. The Cleveland Indians designated him for assignment to Triple-A Columbus and he refused. So, that means you get released, which is what happened.

I’m not exactly sure why he was designated. He was actually pitched pretty well in his limited time with the team.

He had a line of 2.25 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 18/11 K/BB ratio over 20 innings pitched. When you look around the league at some of the bullpens, you’d think he’d be one of the better relievers.

Oh well, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. I wouldn’t think he’ll be unemployed too long.
