A-Rod says he won’t waive no-trade clause

We mentioned recently that there have been rumors of a trade that would send New York Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez to the Florida Marlins. And there was a report earlier on Thursday from USA Today’s Bob Nightengale that said that A-Rod wouldn’t block a trade out of town.

Well, according to Peter Botte of the New York Daily News, that isn’t the case at all. A-Rod won’t waive his no-trade clause, and that is straight from A-Rod’s mouth.

“Plans change, but ARod says he has no plans to waive no-trade clause. “That’s correct. I will be back. I have a lot to prove.”,” Botte tweets.

The Yankees had an all-time playoff worst .188 batting average this postseason, so you can’t blame that all on Rodriguez. But, when you’re making about $30 million a year, you have to be way better than the benched A-Rod was.

We’ll see what happens, but it looks like, for now, the Yankees are stuck with their overpaid 3B.
