Dolphins to cut Garrard

It was only a couple of weeks ago that David Garrard was set to be the starting QB for the Miami Dolphins. Then, he twisted his knee pretty good and has been on the training table ever since.

During that period, Ryan Tannehill looked relatively sharp and was handed the starting job over Matt Moore. Probably because they spent the No. 8-overall pick on him and they might as well just give him a shot.

As for Garrard? According to Jay Glazer, he’s getting cut today.

“Just got a text from David Garrard that he is being released from Fins today,” Glazer tweets.

Yes, he’s getting a little older and is a bit banged up right now, but we’d have to think that someone will give him a shot. Not as a starter, but certainly as a backup.
