Weaver might miss next start

My fantasy baseball team is really excited that Anaheim Angels pitcher Jered Weaver had an off start on Sunday. He wasn’t terrible, but he didn’t light it up like he usually does.

Maybe now we know why. Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times tweets that Weaver could be having some shoulder issues and could miss his next start, which is scheduled for Friday.

“#Angels MGR Mike Scioscia said Jered Weaver’s R shoulder “is a little tender.” Not sure at this point whether he’ll start Friday vs. #Tigers,” he tweets.

The good news is that it’s not like he has major structural damage that can accrue over the life of a pitcher. Nope, he was whacked with a Dustin Ackley comebacker and it just plain hurts.

Nothing wrong with getting him some rest there.
