MJD reports in good condition
After 38 days, the holdout is finally over. Jacksonville Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew has reported to the team after trying to get more money out of an organization that already has his successor ready to go.
He really didn’t have any leverage. Yes, he’s a really good player, but he’s getting older and still has two years remaining on his contract. And the owner basically said take all the time you need.
But, he’s finally reported and apparently head coach Mike Mularkey is impressed with his conditioning.
“Mike Mularkey: ‘I can tell he’s ready to go, so we’ll be working with him to get him up to speed as quickly as possible.’,” tweets Aaron Wilson.
That’s pretty impressive since he missed all of training camp. I thought for sure he’d be a good four weeks behind as soon as he showed up. This is good news for people that took a flyer on him in their fantasy draft.
