Smith getting hype in Rams camp

SteveSmith 300x198 Smith getting hype in Rams campIn his rookie year in 2007 with the New York Giants, Steve Smith was almost instantly a trusted slot receiver. He ran nice routes and was extremely reliable. But, after that, he had microfracture surgery on his knee and then signed with the Philadelphia Eagles for the 2011 season. He was nothing short of horrific last year for the Birds…absolutely awful.

So, if you were doing some NFL betting and had to put some money on how Smith would do this year based on the fact that he’s on a terrible Rams team with Sam Bradford coming off a down year, we would probably advise you to put your wallet away.

However, the buzz out of the Rams camp is that he’s actually looking really good. Maybe you should pull that wad of cash out of your pocket and make a wager. Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports says that Smith has actually continued to be strong.

“Very strong buzz about WR Steve Smith here. Having another strong practice. Bradford excited to see Smith and Amendola both in slot,” La Canfora tweets.

It’s a situation to keep an eye on fantasy-wise that’s for sure. Especially in a PPR league. Bradford has shown in the past that he can play very well, and there is always a chance that he gets comfortable with Smith and locks on to him. We’ll see.
