Manning acknowledges reduced arm strength
Normally, a team that has Peyton Manning wouldn’t just let him walk away in free agency. But, that’s what happens when he’s closer to 40 than 30, and has had four neck surgeries.
The big question is whether the new Denver Broncos QB would be able to get his arm strength back. Even Manning has acknowledge that that probably won’t ever happen.
“I still have strength to recover, still have work to do,” he said. “I am 36 years old. My arm has a lot of yards and a lot of touchdowns on it, so it’s probably not going to be the same as it was when it was 22, but I still think it can complete some passes. I can move the chains and hopefully get our offense into the end zone.”
One has to wonder if it’s his age or the neck surgeries. It’s probably both. Still, he’ll make smart decisions and be a damn good QB. He just won’t be throwing it 70 yards in the air anymore.
