Habs offer Suban two-year, $5.5 million contract

PKSubban 300x199 Habs offer Suban two year, $5.5 million contractThe Montreal Canadiens are dealing with a restricted free agent defenceman in P.K. Subban. As a Flyers fan, he irritates me. But, he’s still a very nice player.

And, according to RDS in Quebec (we have no clue who that is), the Habs have offered him a two-year, $5.5 million contract. Subban is looking for something much longer term than that, so it’s doubtful that he will accept.

But, it’s still a good sign that the team is trying to get him under contract even if his agent doesn’t sound optimistic.

“I don’t see anything being done in the short term,” Subban’s Newport agent Mark Guy told TVA Sports (no clue who they are either) on Wednesday afternoon. “These deals are difficult and take time.”

The two sides are still very far apart and it doesn’t sound like anything will get done soon. Then again, some people don’t even think there will be hockey this year, so who cares?
