Martin is “clearly the top dog” in Tampa
It’s fantasy football season! And one of the more intriguing situations at RB this year is what’s happening in Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers already have a decent back in LeGarrette Blount, but his work ethic has left a lot to be desired and the team used a first-round pick on Doug Martin.
And so far, it seems like he was worth it. The beat writers are raving him about him, specifically Tom Krasniqi, who says that Martin is already in the lead role.
“”@nadaidea: @TKras is Martin getting majority of 1st team reps over Blount?” –>Martin clearly the top dog so far. Very impressive,” he tweets.
Fantasy wise, we have to slide him up our board. Yes, we have to be careful about relying on rookie running backs (Adrian Petersons don’t come along every day), but don’t forget they added Carl Nicks at guard. He should be opening some huge holes and Vincent Jackson should stretch defenses for him.
This also means you should slide Blount down quite a bit. Or, at the very least, grab him as a handcuff.
