Hamels looking for new deal so he can repeal Obamacare
It’s no secret that the Philadelphia Phillies want to get impending free agent Cole Hamels locked up long term. He’s a young ace that virtually never gets hurt. And Hamels would like to get a deal done soon too, because there are many things he wants to accomplish in his career.
The main reason Hamels wants to get his big contract completed is so that he can get in there and get Obamacare repealed. The baseball union will fight him on that for sure, but he’s not afraid to take them on, because he sees them as a left-wing propoganda machine in place to get Obama and his radical, socialist policies elected to a second term.

Hamels is also adamant that Dodd-Frank needs to be repealed as well. In his view, this is just more government regulation that can only artificially inflate his ERA and WHIP. And there isn’t anything he can do about it absent a new contract.
Hamels overall is sick of an over-regulating government that is hurting the economy and keeping the Phillies in last place. The Phillies just don’t have the freedoms they need win games and get out of the NL East cellar. His new contract, Hamels believes, is the key to the Phillies getting that second Wild Card once restrictive legislation is removed.
Sources told OTR late Sunday night that the Phillies have been in contact with the Koch brothers for help with funding the new contract. Rachel Maddow of MSNBC has opposed a contract extension for Hamels since the topic was first broached this offseason.
