Paterno statue comes down, sanctions on the way

This is just more bad news for Penn State, but nothing that wasn’t foreseen. After it was revealed that Joe Paterno and other school executives were involved in a 14-year cover up regarding Jerry Sandusky and his fascination with young boys, you knew major changes were coming.

A couple weeks ago, board members at Penn State said that the famous Paterno statue would stay and that there were no plans to remove it. Of course we thought that was ridiculous.

And apparently, a lot of other people did too. The school has removed the statue. Yes, Penn State has removed the statue of Joe Paterno. Don’t think that’s a big deal? Go talk to a bunch of the idiot students and residences in State College. There’s a ton that are still sticking up for Paterno and claiming he didn’t do anything wrong. Yep, those people exist.

And this is even better. As the statue was being removed, there were some 100 to 150 students who watched, some chanting “We are Penn State.” WTF?
What the hell does that even mean in that situation?

The statue was removed as the NCAA said that they would be administering “corrective and punitive measures” against the school’s football program. Depending on the severity, that really means “all of your sports.” Because, that football program funds all the other crap that no one cares about.

The NCAA said they would announce their decision on Monday.

We are Penn State?
