Bryant hit his mother with a ball cap…really?
You can’t make this stuff up. We mentioned yesterday that Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant was arrested on charges of misdemeanor domestic abuse. We didn’t have many details at that point.
Now, we do.
So what did he do? Hit his girlfriend? His wife? No…his mother.
I mean…you have to be kidding me. And the details paint a nasty picture.
The police reports says that Dez “got upset during a verbal argument and grabbed mother by her shirt and hair and hit her in the face with ball cap.”
The 911 call from his mother is what really bothers us.
“I can’t keep letting him do this,” said Angela Bryant according to ESPNDallas. “I can’t keep letting him do me like this. I’m tired. I’m going to put an end to it today. I’m going to put an end to it today. I’m tired.”
That is not a phone call someone would make if this was the first time this happened. Quite the opposite. She clearly sounds like someone who has this happen quite a bit. To what extent, I have no idea. But dude…who assaults their own mother? What did she have to do to get you to the point where you attack her physically?
Forget the money owed for jewelry nonsense, this is some truly messed up stuff. But, the good news is that Dez’s attorney told NFL Network on Tuesday morning that Dez doesn’t want to be a distraction to the Cowboys. Why on Earth would assaulting your mother be a distraction? Happens to the best of us.
“Dez does not want this to be a distraction for the Cowboys,” Royce West told Ian Rapoport. “Whatever the issues are that are involved, he’s going to get them dealt with. And needless to say, he’s going to be cooperative with law enforcement to get those resolved. The fact of the matter is, he has never ever been arrested for anything involving these types of allegations at all. And so, obviously it comes as a shock having to be fingerprinted, but reality is is that he’s going to work his way through this and be prepared for the season.”
