Jets want Tebow to add weight

This could conceivably be good news to Mark Sanchez and his quarterback job security. New York Jets backup QB Tim Tebow has shown up to camp at 249 lbs., roughly 10 pounds more than he’s used to.

“I’m trying to be in shape, be strong enough to do anything, but also fast enough to run around a little bit as well,” said Tebow.

The weight gain would theoretically signify that the Jets really plan to run Tebow hard in the wildcat package. And if the extra pounds hurt his ability to throw a football, no one will ever be able to tell.

This could potentially hurt Shonn Greene’s fantasy value, especially if Tebow pilfers goal-line carries. Tebow could be a nice little fantasy sleeper this year, unless some ding bat in your league takes him in the second round.
