Weaver to get MRI and X-rays on back
This could be potentially awful news for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim of California of the United States of America. On Monday night, Jered Weaver left his start against the New York Yankees after just 12 pitches. Something went wrong in his back and now the stud will undergo an MRI and X-rays to find out what the deal is.
“I really don’t have any answers right now,” Weaver said. “I’ve just got to wait for those MRIs and X-rays to come back. We’ll keep our fingers crossed.”
Weaver then commented on the extent of his discomfort.
“I can’t really bend over too much,” Weaver said. “Muscle relaxer’s helping a little bit, but like I said, I’ve never had something like that happen before, so it was pretty painful. No doubt about it.”
Weaver is 6-1 with a 2.61 ERA, so year, he’s pretty important to an Angels team with championship aspirations. If he has to miss any extended time, they will likely call up Garrett Richards from Triple-A Salt Lake.
