Halladay to the DL, Worley throws without pain
Yay! Go Phillies! Philadelphia Phillies fans must be thrilled about this. Something has been up with ace Roy Halladay all season, but we didn’t really know what. So, when he left Sunday’s game in the second inning with shoulder soreness, we finally found out.
We don’t have all the details yet, but we do know that the Phillies just placed him on the disabled list.
That sucks!
But, it does explain why his velocity was down and he was getting knocked around so much. We haven’t seen Halladay get beaten up in a season like this in a looong time. Maybe ever. Probably have to go back to Little League.
The good news is that hopefully they can fix what’s wrong and he can come back as the real Roy Halladay and not some facsimile thereof.
Other good news is that Vance Worley, who had to go see the dreaded Dr. James Andrews, threw without pain recently, according to Jim Salisbury. That’s huge since he had elbow soreness and you can never rule out Tommy John depending on the severity.
