End of the road for Gonzalez?
In 2007, the Indianapolis Colts selected Ohio State WR Anthony Gonazalez in the first round of the NFL draft. I thought it a bit odd at the time seeing as how Reggie Wayne and Marvin Harrison were still going strong.
But, early on he looked like he was worth the pick. He caught 94 balls over the course of his first two seasons, which is pretty decent. But then, the injuries hit. And hit again. And it because obvious that this guy, while talented, just couldn’t stay healthy.
The New England Patriots, as they often do, thought they could get something out of a guy no one else really wanted. Today, even the Patriots realized that they weren’t going to get anything out of him. He was released by the team and he’s now free to pursue a life of religious fulfillment.
One has to wonder if this is it for Gonzalez.
