Chooch scratched with hamstring tightness
The Philadelphia Phillies 2012 season just keeps getting better and better. Not only are they in the basement of the NL East, they just watched Roy Halladay leave a start after two innings on Sunday with shoulder soreness.
But, pitching hasn’t been the main trouble spot. Overall, the lineup has just not been good enough, despite the fact that they’ve been a bit better as of late. This lineup cannot afford to lose anything, so seeing their hottest hitter, C Carlos Ruiz, scratched from Monday’s game against the Mets is bad, bad news.
Chooch apparently has some hamstring tightness, although it’s not known how bad it is. If they lose Chooch for any prolonged period of time, it’s tough to imagine the Phils treading water in the division while they wait for help to arrive. Homeboy has been hitting .366 this season! Not easy to replace.
Brian Schneider will start in his place.
