Dutch soccer player consoled by daughter after relegation (video)

Well, if this doesn’t warm your heart then you are just an ass. On Sunday, De Graafschap, a soccer team that no one has ever heard of, drew to a 1-1 tie in their second promotion/relegation game.

It was after they lost their first game, and the club ended up getting relegated.

Rogier Meijer was visibly dejected after the game. He sat on the field afterwards, and then had someone come out to console him. Who? His young daughter Saar, who ran out in her dad’s jersey to see if he was okay. He shook his head and laid back down on the pitch.
