Pineda out for the year
Good news, Yankees fans! Remember how excited you were when you sent Jesus Montero and others to the Seattle Mariners for Michael Pineda? Yeah, unless you run into him in a bar or restaurant, you won’t be seeing him for quite a while.
Pineda developed arm issues and the diagnosis is pretty bad. According to Yankees blogger Mark Feinsand, it’s a torn labrum and he’ll miss the entire 2012 season.
“Pineda has a tear in his labrum. Arthroscopic surgery scheduled for next Tuesday,” he tweets.
It’s officially an “anterior labral tear” and it unofficially sucks for the Yankees, who could have used his arm this season.
