It’s widely known that the Philadelphia Eagles are trying to move cornerback Asante Samuel. Fans know it, the media knows it, Asante knows it and dogs know it.

The Atlanta Falcons are the latest team interested and it sources tell Philly.com that trade compensation isn’t what is holding the deal up. Apparently, it’s Asante’s willingness to restructure his contract.

He’s slated to make some $10 million this season, and while he’s willing to rework his contract, he’d like to keep most of that $10 million. This is the same thing that held up a deal with the Denver Broncos recently.

Still, the Eagles would like to get him moved before the start of Thursday’s NFL Draft and are likely to get peanuts in return.
