Braves willing to deal Jurrjens and Prado?
We mentioned previously that the Atlanta Braves had shipped Derek Lowe out of town as they prepared to strengthen their team this offseason. But, it would now seem like they aren’t stopping there.
We were surprised to see a report in the MLB Blogs that the Braves are listening to offers for Jair Jurrjens and Martin Prado. Really? That’s two of their best players.
Photo Caption: Prado has promised the Braves’ brass that he will stop trying to kiss certain fastballs.
But, yes, the Royals are expected to be showing interest in Jurrjens, who had a 2.96 ERA last year, but also has questions regarding his right knee. Sounds perfect for the Royals!
And Prado? Career .293 hitter who can play a variety of defensive positions. Frank Wren better get a decent amount back if he’s moving Prado. This isn’t a team that can afford to lose any offense.
Apparently, the Braves are looking to move some people around so they can get a shortstop. It would have to be Jimmy Rollins or Jose Reyes if they are willing to part with talents like this.
