New York Mets pursuing Matt Holliday
General manager of the New York Mets Omar Minaya attended the ninth annual “21 Days of Clemente” as a guest speaker, hosted at the recently opened Applebee’s in the Gateway Mall.
Applebee’s? Really?

At the event, Minaya was asked questions about who the Mets are and aren’t pursuing in free agency. Minaya had this to say, “We are pursuing Matt Holliday. It seems to be easier to make a deal for Jason Bay.”
Take that for what it’s worth, but it sure sounds like they could sign Jason Bay if they wanted to, but it’s pending the possible signing of Matt Holliday.
Either way, the signing will be irrelevant, because the Mets are a horrible baseball team and one big signing can’t help them.
