Aaron Smith done for the season

The Pittsburgh Steelers have placed defensive end Aaron Smith on the IR with a partial tear of the right rotator cuff, a source told ESPN.com’s John Clayton on Tuesday.  Thusly, Smith is done for the season.

This is a big blow to the Steelers’ defense who have already played the majority of the season without All-Planet safety Troy Polamalu.  Smith plays a big part in stopping the run for Pittsburgh’s 3-4 defense and has been with the team for 11 seasons.
